The 1.2m Standard: Engineering for Global Logistics

While our extruders produce infinite wooden logs, the production line is engineered to cut these strips into 1.2-meter standard lengths.

“Why 1.2 meters? This is the universal standard for Euro Pallets (EPAL). Cutting to 1.2m allows for seamless forklift handling and pallet stacking before the final precision cutting into block cubes.”

Elasn provides the flexibility to adjust this length via our electronic cutting systems, but the 1.2m default ensures your factory is “Logistics Ready” from day one.

Proven Success in Global Markets

From the dense industrial hubs of Europe to the rapidly expanding recycling sectors in Southeast Asia, Elasn wood block extruders are the preferred choice for high-volume, 24/7 production environments.

European Market (Poland)

Standardized EPAL Production

A large-scale pallet manufacturer in Poland integrated six of our 4-head extruders to transition from traditional wood cutting to compressed sawdust blocks. By utilizing their own factory waste, they reduced material costs by 40% while achieving full compliance with EPAL structural standards for nail-holding strength and density.

Southeast Asia (Vietnam)

High-Humidity Performance

Operating in a tropical climate presents unique challenges for moisture control. We designed a custom integrated drying-to-extrusion line for a client in Vietnam, ensuring the raw rubberwood sawdust maintained a stable 10% moisture content. The result is a high-gloss, waterproof block that withstands long-distance maritime shipping.

Middle East (Saudi Arabia)

Waste Transformation Project

In a region with high logistics demand but scarce timber resources, our client utilized crushed palm fiber and recycled packaging waste. Elasn provided a specialized screw-rod configuration to handle the unique fiber length, successfully producing heavy-duty blocks for chemical industry pallets.

“Our success is not just in the machinery we sell, but in the long-term profitability of our clients. With over 150 installations worldwide, we understand that every factory has different raw materials and power requirements. We don’t just ship a machine; we engineer a localized solution.”

Sustainable Operations: Beyond the Machine

Purchasing a wood block extrusion line is a long-term capital investment. At Elasn, we recognize that our relationship with your facility begins—rather than ends—at the moment of delivery. Our Life-Cycle Support Program is specifically designed to maximize your machine’s “Up-Time,” ensuring that your production targets are met month after month, year after year, regardless of your geographic location.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Wood Pallet Block Production & Machinery.

    1. What raw materials are best for wood pallet block extrusion?

The most common raw materials are wood sawdust, shavings, and crushed wood chips (size around 1-3mm). However, our machines are versatile enough to process biomass waste like rice husks, coconut shells, and hemp stalks. For premium quality, a mix of softwood (like pine) and hardwood shavings is often used to balance density and surface smoothness.

    2. What is the ideal moisture content for the sawdust?

Moisture control is critical for high-density blocks. The raw material should have a moisture content between 8% and 12%. If the moisture is too high (above 15%), the blocks may crack or expand after extrusion. If you are using wet forest waste, we recommend integrating a Rotary Drum Dryer into your production line to ensure consistency.

    3. Do the produced pallet blocks require fumigation for export?

No. Since the blocks are manufactured under high temperature (up to 200°C) and high pressure, any pests or larvae are eliminated during the process. These compressed wood blocks comply with ISPM-15 standards and are classified as “processed wood,” meaning they are fumigation-free and ready for immediate international shipping.

    4. What is the density and load-bearing capacity of the blocks?

Elasn pallet blocks typically have a density ranging from 550kg/m³ to 1000kg/m³, depending on the pressure settings. This high density provides superior nail-holding power and a load-bearing capacity that often exceeds traditional solid wood blocks, making them ideal for heavy-duty Euro pallets.

    5. How much glue/binder is needed in the production process?

Typically, the glue ratio is about 10% to 15% of the total material weight. Most factories use Urea-Formaldehyde (UF) resin or MDI binders for better water resistance. Our integrated Glue Mixing Machine ensures that the binder is evenly distributed, which reduces cost while maintaining block integrity.

    6. Can the machine produce different block sizes?

Yes! The mold is customizable. Standard sizes include 75x75mm, 80x80mm, 90x90mm, and 100x100mm, with or without a central hole. Switching between different sizes requires changing the mold sleeve and heating rings. We can provide custom molds according to your specific regional pallet standards.
